Hockeneheim

I went on an over night train to Munich from Florence and then after a three hour drive I arrived at Hockenheim. I went to Hockenheim for a test with Josef Kaufman in a formula BMW single seater. It was really strange to see the grand stands empty and to see the pure scale of a formula one circuit. It was interesting to see how a single seater team is organized, and to see the professionalism that goes into a days testing. I learnt how to analyze the data and it was a very eventful day at Hockenheim due to the fact that there were many different single seater cars and Gt cars. I learnt how the Formula BMW operates and it took time to get used to the different view pionts and the changing of the gears. I was pleased with my performance at the end of the day and it was challenging to get past the Gt cars as they were very quick down the straights but slow through the corners. Luckily the weather was good so we got a full day of dry testing, which was important for me to get a feel of the way the car handles and to explore the limits of the Formula BMW. I really enjoyed the single seater experience and it was a massive contrast to a kart which was good for me to try to adapt myself to the different handling of a single seater car. All in all, it was an amazing experience to drive a Formula BMW and especially on a formula one circuit and i really can't wait for my next test.
